What factors place a person at a high risk for developing colon cancer?(need answers please!!)?
My mom and her friend have told me that I'm putting myself at a higher risk for getting colon cancer when I'm older because I don't eat very healthily. My mom gets really mad because I rarely drink water and I don't eat many fruits or vegetables.I just don't like how water doesn't have a taste, and I would much rather drink milk or soda.I also eat fast food 1-2 times a week.I've been constipated off and on for a while now,and when I do go,there's been blood every time for the past 2-3 weeks. It also hurts a lot to go most of the time, and I still feel bloated even after I go.So my question is,does it sound like I'm at risk for developing colon cancer when I'm older,or were they just saying that to scare me into eating healthier? And what are some of the symptoms of colon cancer?Thank you for your opinions!!

Let's just say that colon cancer occurs more frequently in people who eat a low fiber diet than in those whose diet is high in fiber. Many large studies support this. I have to go with your mother on this issue.

Genetics also plays a significant role.

Colon cancer is a relatively silent killer. Small amounts of blood in the stool may go undetected for years. By the time one feels a mass, experiences gross bleeding, or if partial obstruction occurs, the disease is in an advanced stage.
References :
Doc with positive family history

Your mom is right you will get colon cancer or get gallbladder stones and would would need to take your colon out or have a painful way fixing it. Or you can have water (You can have tea, iced tea, mostly and powder stuff that can be added to your water), and have ranch dressing with your vegetables and eat apples, home made tomato soup with real tomato's, home made mash potatoes, because your life stile is unhealthy.
References :
I was a Admiral in the U.S Navy SEALs as a sergen.

You should always ask a doctor first. secondly eating the way you do may or may not increase the risk of cancer. It depends on your body. how ever sounds like you are well on your way to heart problems like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other cardiovascular diseases. if you cant stand fruits and veggies you could always drink V8 fusion.
one 8 oz. glass is a serving of fruit and veggies and it tastes like fruit.
